What Insurance Agents Do for You That Websites Won’t

Have you ever spent hours comparing health insurance plans online, only to feel more confused than when you started? With so much information available at your fingertips, it’s easy to assume a website can answer every question.

But when it comes to making important decisions about your healthcare coverage, there’s still tremendous value in having a real person guide you through the process.

My name is Daniel Jung with the MBhealth Insurance Agency here in St. Louis, Missouri. Today, I want to talk about what insurance agents do for you that websites won’t.

Why Health Insurance Decisions Need More Than an Online Search

We live in a world where everybody wants immediate information and access to things right away. Going online and typing in what you’re looking for will certainly give you a lot of ideas and information to read through.

But when you’re making decisions about health insurance for yourself or your family—or when life throws you a curveball—it really helps to have the opportunity to talk with someone over the phone, meet in person, or connect through Zoom. That’s where an insurance consultant like myself has the opportunity to talk with you about your goals, your needs, and where you see yourself not just in year one or year two, but further down the road.

The Human Side of Health Insurance Planning

When we’re looking for health insurance, it’s often because something significant has happened. And no offense to websites or AI, but emotion is a tough thing to capture. Healthcare is a very emotional product.

I have people come to me when they’ve lost their job and are trying to figure out their next steps. They’ll ask, “Dan, what should I do? Is COBRA what I need? It’s $1,800 a month, and I don’t know if I can afford that. I just don’t know what my options are.”

It’s difficult to properly think through those decisions by simply looking at a website. You need somebody who can be impartial and focus on what’s in the best interest of you and your family at that moment.

How Health Insurance Agents Help You Sort Through Your Options

COBRA may be an option. The ACA, or Obamacare, may be an option. Maybe your spouse has a health plan, and that’s something we should be looking at as well.

I spend a lot of time helping people compare these options. We look at what coverage would cost individually versus joining a spouse’s plan. We take income into consideration, especially if you’ve recently lost your job and your financial situation has changed.

Those are the kinds of personalized conversations and comparisons that you’re simply not going to get from a website alone.

How an Insurance Agent Supports You Beyond Enrollment

At MB Health, we want to walk side by side with you. This isn’t a “set it and forget it” type of transaction for me.

I want to be here when you have issues, questions, or problems. I have a little saying I like to share with folks: “Don’t deal with health insurance on your own. Get Dan Jung on the phone.”

It’s one of my little quirks, but I mean it.
